These are so easy & client/husband approved as well! Inspired by my no bake 6 ingredient Brownie Bites (also in photo & recipe is here on my site) these are the perfect little snack! Kids would love them too 🙂
These Superfood Bites are No-bake and grain, gluten, dairy and sugar free.
Key Ingredients:
Protein powder: I use vanilla Collagen or Bone Broth protein (Terra Origin or Ancient Nutrition brand are my favorite). These are high quality without any additives, synthetic ingredients etc. You may substitute for grass fed whey protein. Collagen/bone broth helps support healthy skin, hair, nails, digestive health & can help reduce inflammation.
Ground Flaxseed: High in ALA (healthy fat) fiber & a phytoestrogen, which helps the body’s natural balance of hormones
Hemp Hearts: Rich source of plant protein, fiber, omega 3 and iron, plus add texture & crunch!
Pepitas & Sunflower Seeds: These are rich in healthy fats, zinc and magnesium, which help to support healthy thyroid functioning & balance estrogen:progesterone.
Cinnamon & Ginger: Spices that help to balance blood sugars, cravings, improved digestion & reduces inflammation.
RECIPE: (can double, triple etc)
28g (1/4 cup) ground flaxseed
28g Coconut flour
1/4 cup Erythritol granulated sweetener (can omit or change amount)
1/4 cup hemp hearts, pepitas or sunflower seeds
2 full servings (60g) vanilla protein powder*
Cinnamon & ginger (to taste; I used about 1/4 tsp)
64 (1/4 cup) nut butter; I use almond or sunflower seed
2-4 Tbsp water
OPTIONAL: Unsweetened dried cranberries, organic raisins (approx. 2 Tbsp) 1 Tbsp molasses, pure maple syrup or raw honey. 2 Tbsp cacao nibs (omit or cut back on cinnamon/ginger)
DIRECTIONS:
Mix all dry ingredients in a small bowl. Add the nut butter & water. Mix again well until it forms into a dough. Form into small bites. Store in the fridge or freezer. Makes approx. 25 (10g) bites
