20 Week Pregnancy Update (and Gender Reveal!)
Woo hoo, I made it to the “half way” mark already – which I am also saying WOW, cause where does time go?!
Everything is still GREAT and I am feeling FANTASTIC!
What MOST people want to know is if we found out the gender. And yes, we had our 20 week anatomy scan this week and found out we have a very healthy & thriving baby.
And the baby is a BOY!!!
We were excited and was just truthfully praying for a healthy growing baby 🙂 I have sisters, so I love that bond, but I also wanted to experience having a son. And so now, we get to enjoy having 1 of each!
We are just over the moon happy, grateful and really excited to meet him!
Natalie has grasped the concept of Mommy growing a baby – she loves to give him belly rubs, kisses and last night she grabbed her “The New Baby” book and wanted to read to him! She is going to be such a wonderful big sister.
Pregnancy Updates:
- I’m in a really good sweet spot of that 2nd trimester, where everything is feeling pretty good and as normal as can be! I have minimal changes and “symptoms” so to speak. I still don’t have any food aversions, digestive issues, no more fatigue, pain etc. I have been noticing some more pelvic pressure (mainly when I am running) and hip soreness, but that is to be expected, as the whole body is changing and moving to accommodate growing uterus and baby!
- Our plan is to do another homebirth with the same midwife as before. We meet with her 1x month and then our “co-care” midwife with Cleveland Clinic at least 1x a trimester to check in. There have been no issues with me or baby boy, which of course I am grateful for!
- Due date is still approximately Dec 1-3rd.
- I’m still doing my normal routine of exercise, healthy eating etc. I work out 5-6x week and still walking, running, lifting, conditioning work, and lots of emphasis on mobility, stretching and pelvic floor & core strength. I have only had to modify a few things (like hip thrusts and ab work) otherwise, I am doing everything else the same as before.
What else to share? I feel like there isn’t much new or exciting as it was the first pregnancy LOL. As things progress and change, I will be sharing more of how I am feeling and modifying – but otherwise, just living life, enjoying summer and embracing this pregnancy! 🙂
