Hello all!
The Holidays are just about here! Thanksgiving is around the corner and I feel like the Christmas season is here already too. Many people during this time adopt an “all or nothing” mentality. They either abstain from all treats, indulgences, and work out more to “combat” any holiday gain. Then there’s the opposite group…the ones that say “screw it!” from Halloween until January…saying “Oh well, I’m just gonna blow it, there’s no point in moderation”.
Both of these mindsets are not healthy! There is no reason to deprive yourself, but you also should still respect yourself and not over do it “just because”. Having a more balanced and flexible approach to this season will leave you feeling less stressed, happier and healthier overall.
One way to do that is make HEALTHIER options of your favorite dishes and treats! This way you are still enjoying the favorite flavors and foods of this (delicious) time of the year AND still maintaining your health and/or reaching your health goals. You aren’t deprived, yet you can leave the party or get together feeling confident in your choices, and that you won’t be experiencing any sort of Food Coma, or negative effects a high sugar/fat meal brings!
I have compiled my favorite “Holiday” recipes here. They’re all healthy and delicious! They all use healthier substitutions, like granulated erythritol versus white sugar, coconut and almond flour versus white or wheat, etc. But don’t worry…they are all approved by family, friends and kids! 🙂 Just because something is “better for you” doesn’t mean it has to sacrifice taste or texture.
Please let me know if you try any of these, and if there were a hit at the your holiday get together or party! Click on any of the ideas below to access the full recipe!
